My iPod does nothing but collect dust because I'm not that guy that's going to walk down the street listing to music. I like to hear the birds and think when I walk.
So, I bought it for the car thinking I would play it in the car. So I then buy a $40 fm transmitter / charger thingy and it was the stink. It's not a good way to do it because you get interference. So I'm thinking upgrade, but to do it right you have to spend a fortune and I'm a poor family guy! Total estimated cost by best buy was like $500 or something!
And the main thing I don't like about iTunes is that because meta data lookup is non-existent for any songs that are ripped to your HD using another program. Windows Media Player actually does this very well... Right click on your song and click a "find album info." It searches and then add you pick the song and the album that most closely resembles what you have and you it's the album art and everything. I love album art! So if iTunes does it the interface offiscates it because I can't find it. And yes I know iTunes all that if you buy their music and yes I know there are hacks to iTunes that I could apply but I don't like hacks. And plus iTunes upgrades every week and breaks hacks. I like to keep it up today. Why iTunes don't you include this find ablum info? Are you just too wipped by the RIAA?
That's the end of my rant.
I actually think iPod's are sexy looking... My iPod itself functions well and interfaces with iTunes nicely as it should. I like iTunes except for what I've already said.

In addition have you tried hitting the advance tab and selecting get cd tracks names…
also… why not just rip the songs using iTunes?
I usually use iTunes for ripping CD’s to the computer these days. The songs that are ripped where ripped before I had iTunes.
The main thing that iTunes doesn’t do for you is add album art which is something I really like about Windows Media Player. I know iTunes adds album art automatically for the songs you buy from the iTunes store but I’m probably not going to buy all my songs from the iTunes store.
