Google Blog Search and ping-o-matic
So I'm reading about this new service from Google called Blog Search... I go and check the search engine out and naturally I checked to see of my website is indexed. I search for "link: brent.epicserve.com" and sadly my website was not indexed.
So today when I was reading my feeds, I read a post from Matt Mullenweg (the guy behind WordPress) which pointed me to ping-o-matic. The ping-o-matic website says their service pings dozens of services to let them know you've updated your site and increases traffic to your blog.
I was very please to see that after using ping-o-matic that within a couple of hours when I checked Google's Blog Search again I had been indexed. Now I will just have to see if traffic is increased or not. It might also help to increase traffic if I wote more content and updated the look a little, right? Baby steps!
Eventually I would like to update my Blog managing software that I wrote for this blog so that it automatically pings the same services that ping-o-matic pings. I've also thought about just switching to WordPress because I keep pretty busy and entertained by the CMS that I develop for my current job.

WordPress is great so do not hesitate. [sarcasm] It will bring spam, too.
