The "O'Connor's Page O' Stuff" gets an overall... I've recently been reading and getting a lot more into design and photography and have been reading some real good blogs like A List Apart, Stopdesign, Mezzoblue, Jason Santa Maria, Mike Davidson and SimpleBits. These sites have inspired me to try and be more creative and have better designs and also try designing websites without tables and to start using CSS for layout and XHTML. I really dig how crisp and clean the code for a site designed with XHTML with CSS layout looks.

This is why I thought what better way to play around with the look of the website then to experiment on my own site. I'm not sure the look is the best it could be but it's an improvement over the previous version.

I ended up making my own custom back-end rather than using an open source solution like Moveable Type or Word Press. I guess you can call me a control freak or something but I just thought I would rather have my own custom CMS that I can control and build however I want to meet my needs.

Since I ended up building my own custom CMS I ended up getting impatient for completing the design the way I wanted for this version. I really wanted to explore the idea of coming up with a new online identity for myself that I could carry out into the theme of the website. I've started sketching out ideas and brain storming ideas for my identity and haven't come up with anything yet. I felt and urgency to get this site launched and I ended up settling for an upgrade of the old look with no new real identity. I mean after all I felt like I should get back to some, "real work" or the kind that pays money. Please let me know if you have any ideas or comments about the new site.
